Good health is not something we can buy. However, it can be an extremely valuable savings account – Anne Wilson Schaef
Some of my clients find it useful to think of their health and wellbeing in terms of a bank account.
In order to make a withdrawal there needs to be something deposited. If all we ever do is take ‘money’ out of our bank account then soon we will be in debt. Making lots of deposits means that there is plenty of money in the kitty to keep us in good health even if we need to make withdrawals.
Making regular deposits can help bring calm to the body, build resilience and help us deal with the everyday stresses of life. Things like eating wholefoods, walking outdoors, watching a favourite film or even getting a good night’s sleep can all help top up the bank account whereas things like eating on the run, not exercising or spending lots of time on our phones can deplete it.
